Basement Egress Window Installation In Canton Michigan

On October 6th Emergency Egress installed a basement egress window in
Canton Michigan. The homeowner wanted to make there basement safe for
the family. The egress/escape window was installed where there was an
existing basement window and measured 28 inches by 46 inches which
meets the code for below grade egress. The foundation was poured
concrete and was 10 inches thick. All of the cutting of the
foundation was done on the outside  with a saw that uses water to
minimize the dust.

The window well was made of galvanized steel and is coated with a
baked on powdered finish. The manufacturer of the window well is Bo
man Kemp and comes in white and a natural stone look. In addition,
the window well has a grate, a ladder and a polycarbonate cover to
cover the grate. This cover keeps debris and water from entering the
well and clogging the drain at the bottom’

The steel window well with a window that can be installed where there
is an existing basement window is the most cost effective. Variables
that may affect the cost of the installation are the location and
size of the window and the quality of the window well. The window
well can also be made of polyethylene and a composite material which
has a nice natural brick look. The main manufactures of the window
wells are Bo man Kemp, Wellcraft, and Rockwell.

The installation of the basement egress window in Canton Michigan
went very smoothly and the homeowner was very happy. Not only is the
basement safe for those that may occupy it, but when they go to sell
there home the basement can be advertised as habitable/livable square
footage. In other words, with the installation of a basement egress
window you get a “Value Added” to your home
